This fun-loving, dance-rock band received nationwide exposure in late 2008 when they opened several North American tour dates for indie-rock superstars The Killers. Their single, “Animal,” off their 2010 debut Habits went double platinum and has since been covered by a wide-ranging group of artists from Taylor Swift to Train to upcoming bands like The Wanted. It was named the Top Alternative Song of 2011 by Billboard magazine and was featured in a recent episode of Glee. The two other singles from Habits, “1983” and “Surrender,” were also largely successful in their own right and led to many late-night-talk show appearances, including Conan, Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Late Show with David Letterman. One of the most popular bands to emerge in the late 90s, Third Eye Blind skyrocketed up the charts with anthemic hits such as “Semi-Charmed Life,” “Jumper,” “How’s It Going to Be” and “Never Let You Go.” Over the years, the band has garnered a sizable, dedicated following since their 1997 debut and toured with world-renown acts like Oasis and U2. After taking a break during the early 2000s, the band – led by lead singer/songwriter Stephan Jenkins – returned in 2009 with their fourth studio album Ursa Major and are currently working on new studio album with no tentative release date. Their feel-good, sing-along pop melodies will be a welcome addition to this year’s Riverfest.

Relying heavily on four-part vocal harmonies with all four members alternating as lead singers, this quartet’s musical style is always a huge hit with both country and pop music fans alike.

Best known for his powerful guitar licks, Joe Walsh has entertained the masses and captivated his peers for more than three decades with such classics as “Funk #49,” “Walk Away,” “Life’s Been Good,” and “Ordinary Average Guy.” In 1969, Walsh found success with The James Gang, followed by a stint with Barnstorm, a trio he founded. In 1973, Joe released his first solo album, which proved him a legitimate solo act with a limitless career on the horizon. By1976, he joined The Eagles, bringing a harder rock sound to the group with the acclaimed Hotel California, The Long Run and Eagles Live. In 1994, after a 14-year hiatus and several solo albums, The Eagles released Hell Freezes Over, which reached #1 on the Billboard charts and sparked one of the most successful tours in music history. And in 1998, The Eagles were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, the first year they were nominated. Joe performed at the 2012 Grammys with Paul McCartney, Bruce Springsteen and Dave Grohl and at the 2012 MusiCares event honoring Paul McCartney. This summer and throughout 2012, he is touring in support of his new record Analog Man, his first solo album in 20 years.

B.o.B.

North Carolina’s Bobby Ray Simmons – better known by his stage name B.o.B. – is a rapper/singer-songwriter/record producer who shot to the top of the charts in 2010 with his debut single “Nothin’ on You” and repeated the feat just three months later with “Airplanes,” featuring Paramore’s Hayley Williams. Dropping mixtapes since 2007, B.o.B. was eventually discovered with a guest spot on T.I.’s 2008 album Paper Trail, and then T.I. returned the favor two years later, alongside a host of other music heavyweights, including Williams, Bruno Mars and Janelle Monáe on B.o.B’s critically acclaimed debut album The Adventures of Bobby Ray. Riverfest may well be your last chance to catch this soon-to-be-superstar live before he’s headlining stadiums and arenas across the globe.
